The new RSA SafeTrx App monitors your boat journeys and alerts Emergency Contacts should you fail to return on time.

RSA SafeTrx is a Smartphone App for both Android & Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) that allows you to plan your journey on your Smartphone.

Directly from your Smartphone you can enter your journey details and set off knowing that should you not return by the time given, your Emergency Contact will be alerted and advised to initiate appropriate action. Where an Emergency Contact calls the MRCC concerning an overdue trip, they will have access to your location and SafeTrx Trip data through a secure SafeTrx server. Since the RSA SafeTrx app periodically sends your location data back to our servers, the NSRI’s response team can get help directly to you, and quickly.

2015 Zinkwazi Interclub Result

Congratulations to Magriet Nel on being placed Top Lady Angler at the Zinkwazi Interclub held 30-31 May 2015. Magriet landed a 21.4Kg Wahoo which helped her team place 5^th out of 17 teams.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Further to our call for nominations yesterday (23^rd June) for Guatemala and the Tri-Nationals,we have just received the invite for the following.

Nominations are hereby called for a four person team to represent South Africa ( Protea Colours ) at the XX111 FIPS-M WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TROLLING 2014.

To be held at Vitoria Brasil between the 23^rd and 29^th November 2014.

This is a mixed Billfish and Gamefish tournament and the line class is minimum 15kg to maximum 60kg.

Circle hooks only in natural baits, Jay hooks allowed in artificial lures.

The entry fee is 5000 Euros per team which includes accommodation or 2750 Euros excluding accommodation. Both exclude airfares.

Nominations must be received by the convenor of the selection committee, Mr Barry Turk by not later than Monday 28^th July 2014.06.24

2014 Protea and SADSAA Nominations

Anglers interested in nominating for SADSAA and Protea as listed below must have their nomination forms in with Lynette Adams lynadams@mweb.co.za latest 20^th July 2014

Nominations are hereby called for a three person team to represent South Africa ( Protea colours ) at the 74th ILTTA Championship to be held in Guatemala between the 1st and 7th December 2014.This will be a 10kg line, full release billfish tournament.

We have yet to receive the official invitation but it is likely that the entrance fee will be approx. $2,500 USD per person which excludes airfares and accommodation.

Nominations are hereby called for three person teams to represent SADSAA at the Tri Nationals to be held at Sodwana Bay between the 16th and 21st November 2014.

The entry fee is R4,750 per team and it is an own boat tournament.

A SADSAA team for the Heavy Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 37kg tournament.
A SADSAA team for the Light Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 10kg tournament.
A SADSAA team for the Gamefish Nationals. This is a 6kg tournament.

A SADSAA under 19 team for the Light Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 10kg tournament.
A SADSAA under 19 team for the Gamefish Nationals. This is a 6kg tournament.

A SADSAA Masters team for the Heavy Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 37kg tournament.
A SADSAA Masters team for the Light Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 10kg tournament.
A SADSAA Masters team for the Gamefish Nationals. This is a 6kg tournament.
